Horseman

Provenance

(Pace Gallery, New York);[1] Mrs. Enid Annenberg Haupt, New York; gift 1977 to NGA. [1] According to a memorandum of telephone call between J. Carter Brown and Mrs. Haupt (26 September 1977, copy in NGA curatorial files) regarding the provenances of works she was donating. However, an annotation on the same memorandum in NGA curatorial files seems to indicate that only a sculpture by Ernest Trova donated by Haupt (NGA 1977.47.12) was purchased from Pace Gallery.
