Spruance, Benton
Benton Murdoch Spruance (June 25, 1904–December 6, 1967) was an American painter, printmaker and architect. A long-term faculty member and chair of the Arts Department at Beaver College in Glenside, Pennsylvania, he subsequently chaired the Printmaking Department of the Philadelphia College of Art. He became known as "the dean of Philadelphia lithographers", according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
